The use of the internet on your mobile while roaming involves costs, just as for making calls and send messages. Click here for the rates of data roaming for the specific country you will be visiting.
If you don’t want to be charged for data roaming, kindly take the following into consideration:
- Activate a roaming plan. Once you activate this plan, you can make normal use of our Digicel number in the USA, Canada, USVI, and Puerto Rico as you do in Suriname.
- To prevent unexpected data charges kindly turn off your mobile connection/data. If your mobile connection/data is on and connected with WiFi, there is still the possibility that the device will switch to mobile data if the Wi-Fi signal is weak. If this happens you will be charged for data roaming.
With the following steps, you can turn off your mobile data on your phone:
Step 1. Most phones have the ability to turn off the mobile data in the top notification section. You can click on this to turn the mobile data on/ off.
Step 2. You can also turn off the mobile data by going to data usage that you can check for device settings.
Step 3. Go to settings, more networks, and then mobile networks. There you can turn the mobile data on or off.
